Manhunt underway for stabbing suspect

POLICE have launched a manhunt operation against a person who killed a 40-year-old laborer in La Paz, Leyte over the weekend.

The 37-year-old suspect, Randy Tuscano Custodio, allegedly stabbed Richard Avelino Custodio while they were having a drinking spree during the fiesta celebration in Barangay Pawa, La Paz town around 4:50 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2020.

A heated argument ensued between the two, prompting the suspect to stab the victim.

Custodio was hit in the back portion of his body. He fell to the ground, while the suspect continued stabbing him, according to initial police investigation.

Custodio was immediately transported to Burauen District Hospital for immediate medical attention while the suspect fled to an unknown direction.

But Dr. Florence Jamin Curbilla, the attending physician, declared the victim dead on arrival around 5:15 p.m. Sunday.

Police said that personal grudge could have led to the killing of Custodio. (SunStar Philippines)
