Minor, 2 others nabbed over illegal gambling

POLICE arrested three individuals, including a 15-year-old, for engaging in illegal gambling locally known as “Cara y Cruz” in Rosario, Northern Samar Thursday, December 3, 2020.

Operatives from Rosario Municipal Police Station, led by Lieutenant Ma. Edlyn Encina, officer-in-charge, arrested the suspects around 12:50 p.m. Thursday in Barangay 1 Commonwealth of the said town.

Police confiscated from their possession two pieces of P1 coin used as dice and bet money amounting to P80.

Corporal Ma. Kristel Turla of the Women and Children Protection Desks turned over the minor to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.

The two other arrested violators, aged 20 and 29, were brought to the police station for documentation and proper disposition.

They will be charged with violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which penalizes illegal gambling. (SunStar Philippines)
