Motor-riding gunmen shot dead government worker in Tacloban

MOTOR-RIDING gunmen shot and killed a 60-year-old government worker and injured his companion in Barangay 110-Utap, Tacloban City Tuesday morning, December 14, 2021.

Gil Bobaris, married, an employee of the Office of Leyte Province Capitol, died on the spot after he sustained gunshot wounds in various parts of his body.

His coworker, 51-year-old Victorio Pineda, survived the incident.

Police said both victims were residents of Barangay San Ricardo, Babatngon, Leyte.

Initial investigation disclosed Bobaris was driving his Toyota Innova vehicle with Pineda on the passenger seat coming from the northern part of Abucay, Tacloban.

They were on their way to Marharlika Highway when four unidentified male persons onboard two separate motorcycles appeared and shot the victims several times.

Police are investigating the incident. (SunStar Philippines)
