TACLOBAN City Mayor Alfred Romualdez on Saturday, August 14, 2021, led the induction of new officers of I Love Tacloban Youth Organization in the north resettlement site as the city celebrated this year’s Linggo ng Kabataan.

In his message, Romualdez pinned his “hope” towards the youth, adding that WiFi connection will be installed soon in the relocation sites “to help them in their studies.”

The mayor, accompanied by his son, Hiraya Foundation President Raymund Romualdez, distributed school supplies and hygiene kits to the youths “to help boost their education and health.”

City Environment and Natural Resources Office Bong Hijada and Councilors Aimee Grafil and Bryan Granados also graced the program.

The event aims to “raise awareness and highlight the significant participation of the Tacloban youth sector in restoring the planet and protecting life, while integrating biodiversity in the transformation of food systems,” according to the City Information Office.

Romualdez lauded the City Youth Development Office, through Carlos Dave Castello, for spearheading the activity.

He also thanked partner agencies, namely Philippine Airforce Tactical Operation Group 8, Public Employment Service Office, City Population Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, PYAP, Community Livelihood and Extension Program, City Agriculturist's Office, CENRO, and Hiraya Foundation.
