Samar cop shot dead in Tacloban

GUNMEN onboard a sports utility vehicle (SUV) shot dead a Samar-assigned police officer Friday, January 24, while he was in Tacloban City.

Chief Master Sergeant Renato Singcol was about to board his vehicle along Cong. Mate Avenue in Barangay 91 around 11:45 a.m. Friday when still unidentified assassins onboard a black Ford Everest shot him using unknown caliber of firearms.

Singcol sustained several gunshot wounds in his body, resulting in his instantaneous death.

The victim, a resident of Ormoc City, was assigned at Basey Municipal Police Station in Basey, Samar.
