Leyte town administrator shot dead

UNIDENTIFIED gunmen on board a gray Ford Ranger Wildcard vehicle shot dead the municipal administrator of San Isidro, Leyte Wednesday morning, May 8.

Police said Levi Mabini, 42, was on board his motorcycle with other companions when the assailants fired at them several times upon reaching a gas station in Barangay Capiñahan.

Mabini sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body, resulting in his death. His companions managed to escape.

The gunmen hit the victim's companion identified as Joseph Misa, 26, as well as a 19-year-old bystander. The two were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Police recovered from the crime scene four empty M16 shells, one empty shell 9mm, and one unfired ammunition of caliber .45.

Personnel from San Isidro Municipal Police Station are still conducting a hot pursuit operation against the gunmen as of this posting Wednesday afternoon, May 8. (SunStar Philippines)
