PERSONNEL from Caibiran Municipal Police Station in Biliran arrested a 20-year-old Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman for alleged violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591, otherwise known as Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The suspect was identified as Allen Llorono, single, and a resident of the said town.

Police said Llorono was under the influence of intoxicating liquor and was creating trouble near the shoreline of Barangay Looc, Caibiran where he was arrested on June 16, 2020.

Confiscated from his possession and control was a Caliber .38 revolver with five unfired cartridges of Caliber .38 ammunition without any legal documents, according to Lieutenant Colonel Ma. Bella Rentuaya, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Eastern Visayas spokesperson.

Llorono and the confiscated firearm were brought to Caibiran Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition, Rentuaya said in a report.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Bernabe Balba, PRO-Eastern Visayas director, said that a barangay official should set a good example to his constituents.

“The incident is not good for these trying times we are facing. We appeal to the public to be more responsible not only for ourselves but more so to others... I am calling all the local officials, let us be upright and be the role models our society needs,” the police official said.
