UNIDENTIFIED gunman onboard a sports utility vehicle (SUV) shot and killed a 44-year-old jobless man in Calbayog City Sunday, January 17, 2021.

Police identified the victim as Jaspher Ondon, a resident of Barangay Rawis, Calbayog.

Initial investigation disclosed that Ondon was about to open the gate of their house around 10 a.m. Sunday when the suspect alighted from the SUV carrying long firearm and shot the victim.

Ondon was hit in different parts of his body that resulted to his death, police said.

Elements of Calbayog City Police Station are conducting hot pursuit operation for the arrest of the suspects.

Authorities have yet to determine the motive of the shooting. (SunStar Philippines)
