1 dead, 3 hurt in Zamboanga del Sur highway accident

ONE person died while three others were injured when the tricycle they were riding fell into a ravine in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police said.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the fatality as Rogerlio Anggot, 64, a resident of Gubac village, Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur.

Injured were Luzviminda Amoc, 62; Christian Jake Brigola, nine; and John Rey Andog. They were hospitalized.

Galvez said the incident happened at 1:10 p.m. Thursday at Purok Saling-Sing in Balintawak village, Pagadian City.

She said investigation showed the victims were aboard a tricycle driven by Anggot that fell into a ravine while traveling to along the highway of Balintawak.

The police official said the victims were rushed but Anggot failed to reach the hospital alive. (SunStar Philippines)
