1 dies, 2 hurt in motorcycle-SUV collision

A MOTORCYCLE driver died while two of his back riders were injured when they collided head-on with a sports utility vehicle (SUV) along a highway in Zamboanga Sibugay province, the police said Monday, March 25.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the incident occurred around 3 p.m. Sunday in Gandiangan village, Imelda town.

Galvez identified the lone fatality as Myco Villacencio, 29, a resident of Purok Mabini in Little Baguio village, Imelda.

Wounded were Villacencio’s back riders namely, Cristoval Ompia, 22; and, Peter Bernardino, 47, also residents of Purok Mabini.

Galvez said investigation showed that Villacencio and his back riders overshot a curve road and collided with the SUV driven by Choren Kim Tagata, 29, while traveling from Imelda town to Ipil municipality.

She said the SUV was traveling on the opposite direction at the time of the collision.
