1 dies, 2 hurt in Zambo Norte highway accident

ONE person died while two others survived although injured in a motorcycle crash along the highway in Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Saturday, March 16.

The Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Police Office reported the incident happened at 9:35 p.m. Friday at Sitio Batotil-til in Biayon village, Sergio Osmeña town.

The police identified the fatality as Junriel Rafols Castillon, 35, was rushed but failed to reach the hospital alive.

Hospitalized were Joren Pailaga, 25, the motorcycle driver and Kevin Nequillo Pailaga, 22. Castillon and Kevin were back riders of Joren.

Investigation showed the three were riding on a motorcycle and traveling to Sergio Osmeña from Dipolog City when they slumped in a concrete post after Joren lost control of the steering bar while trying to overtake another vehicle. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
