1 nabbed, P470,000 shabu seized in anti-drug sting

LAWMEN have arrested a high-value individual (HVI) drug pusher and seized some P476,000 in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police reported Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

Police Major Albin Cabayacruz, chief of the Zamboanga City Police Office’s (ZCPO) Station 5, identified the arrested HVI suspect as Gerardo Raval, 44, a driver by occupation.

Cabayacruz said Raval was arrested in an anti-drug operation around 11:25 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, in Zone 9-A, Zambowood, Zamboanga City.

He said the anti-drug operation was launched against Raval following a series of surveillance on the illicit activity of the suspect.

Cabayacruz said seized from Raval were some 70 grams of suspected shabu worth P476,000 and two P500 bills used as marked money.

He said the suspect was detained at ZCPO’s Station 5 while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him. (SunStar Zamboanga)
