2 high-value targets nabbed in anti-drug operation

TWO high-value target personalities were arrested in an anti-drug operations in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, a police official said Friday, March 6.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Jerry Punto, 35, a rubber tapper; and Astry Moarip, 25, a driver.

Galvez said the two were arrested in a drug bust around 3 p.m. Thursday at Purok Atis in Dalangin Village, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

She said seized from the suspects were some P17,000 worth of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) packed in three medium and four small sized heat-sealed plastic sachets, a cellular phone, P500 marked money and illegal drug paraphernalia.

They were placed under the custody of the police in Titay town while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them, Galvez added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
