2 hurt as 2 motorbikes collide in Sibugay

TWO people, including a policeman, were injured in a collision of two motorcycles in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Friday, December 16, 2022.

Police Colonel Eduard Mallo, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the victims as Police Patrolman Ariel Lumayag, 40; and Jericho Sampotan, 21, a student.

Mallo said the incident happened around 8:15 a.m. Thursday, December 15, in Purok Kinner, La Paz village, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Mallo said both Lumayag and Sampotan were driving motorcycles and traveling in the same direction when they collided when the student encroached the other lane of the road.

He said both Lumayag and Sampotan sustained injuries as a result of the collision and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The two damaged motorcycles were taken to Naga Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
