2 hurt in highway accident

TWO persons, including an elderly, were injured in a vehicular accident in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Sunday, December 25, 2022.

The Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office said the incident happened around 10:05 p.m. Saturday, December 24, along the national highway in Simbol village, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Injured were Ronald Tamparong, 34, a driver of a motorcycle, and Nelson Ybañez, a senior citizen.

Investigation showed that Tamparong was driving a motorcycle travelling from Poblacion village, Kabasalan, Barangay San Isidro, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay when he accidentally bumped Ibañez who was walking at the side of the road.

As a result, both Tamparong and Ibañez sustained injuries on the different parts of their body and immediately brought to Kabasalan Pathfinder Estate Hospital for medical attention.

Ibañez was later transferred to Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Hospital for medication. (SunStar Zamboanga)
