TWO people, including a militiaman, were injured while another civilian escaped unharmed when a man who had been tailing them shot at them Saturday, July 13.

Injured were Ruben Angcagon, 41, a militiaman, and Carlito Limpong, 49. They were hospitalized.

Unharmed was Ruben Basan, 26, a habal-habal driver.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said Angcagon and Limpong were on a motorcycle driven by Basan when they were attacked at about 5 p.m. Saturday in the village of Mirangan in Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

They were traveling from the village of Batu when the suspect, a certain Toto Acosta, shot at them. Acosta was allegedly tailing them.

The suspect fled towards the town of Kabasan, also in Zamboanga Sibugay.

Galvez said a manhunt was launched against the suspect.
