2 nabbed on drug charges in Zamboanga City

TWO persons facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were arrested in separate law enforcement operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Friday, April 30.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Benhut Jamid, 51, and Tadjir Jamhali, 32.

Duco said Jamid was nabbed in a law enforcement operation around 2:50 p.m. Thursday, April 29, in Kasanyangan village, Zamboanga City.

Jamid has a standing warrant of arrest for illegal drug charges with P200,000 recommended bail issued on March 30, 2017 by a court in the city.

Duco said Jamhali, on the other hand, was arrested around 5 p.m. Thursday in Taguiti village, Zamboanga City.

Jamhali was nabbed for illegal drug charges.

Duco said both arrested suspects were placed under the temporary custody of the local police. (SunStar Zamboanga)
