2 nabbed, P170-K shabu seized

TWO people were arrested while P170,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in an anti-drug operation in this southern port city, a top official announced.

Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the arrested suspects as Ronald Torres, Jr. 43, and Junior Into, 27.

Lorenzo said they were arrested in an anti-drug operation around 12:52 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at Royal Line Drive in Tugbungan village, this city.

He said confiscated from the suspects during the anti-drug operation were some 25 grams of suspected shabu packed in 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets with P170,000, and 23 bills of P1,000 boodle money topped with two genuine P200 bills as marked money.

He extolled the operation units for the successful conduct of the buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

The operating units included personnel of the ZCPO’s Station 4, City Drug Enforcement Unit, 904th Mobile Company, and Area Police Command-Western Mindanao.

Lorenzo said the suspects were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
