JOINT police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives have arrested two alleged “big-time” drug dealers and seized some P3.4 million worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, an official announced Thursday, July 8, 2021.

Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspects as Jamael Omar; and Salimah Amer, 32.

Ylagan said the two suspects were arrested in an anti-drug operation around 12:15 p.m. Thursday, July 8, in Purok Doña Aurora, Poblacion village, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.

He said seized from them were some 500 grams of suspected shabu worth P3.4 million, a bundle of P900,000 boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 marked money, a cellular phone, a multicab vehicle and other belongings.

Ylagan said the anti-drug operation was launched following a series of surveillance on the illegal-drug trade activities of the suspects.

He said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
