THREE members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) surrendered to military in Central Mindanao on Friday, June 22, officials said.

Lieutenant Colonel Gerry Besana, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) information officer, identified the BIFF surrenderers as Junior Dia Kaul, Roy Saidali Maningkala, and Bin Tato Sulaiman.

They surrendered around 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 22, to the troops of the Army's 602nd Infantry Brigade in Camp Robert Eduard Lucero in Carmen, North Cotabato. They turned over five high-powered firearms consisting of M-14 rifle, M-16 rifle, a carbine rifle, and two homemade sniper rifles.

"Kaul, Maningkala, and Sulaiman opted to surrender to the government authorities and return to the fold of the law as a result of the continuous pressure and the focused military operations and intelligence build-up of our troops on the ground," said Major General Cirilito Sobejana, Army's 6th Infantry Division chief.

The surrenderers have undergone custodial debriefing while their surrendered firearms were placed in the custody of the 602nd Infantry Brigade for proper documentation and safekeeping. (SunStar Philippines)
