A TOTAL of 366 new policemen have graduated from a two-month rigid Basic Internal Security Operations Course (Bisoc) conducted by the Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula.

Chief Superintendent Edwin De Ocampo, deputy regional director for administration (DRDA) of PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula, said the training is aimed to equip the new policemen the necessary skills and knowledge as they start their police service.

De Ocampo said that 269 of the 366 graduates are policemen while the remaining 97 are policewomen. They graduated on Tuesday, September 25, and the ceremony was held at Camp Colonel Romeo Abendan in Mercedes, this city.

He said the Bisoc is the last phase of training for the new policemen prior to their assignment to the different field units.

The graduates will be assigned to Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) and different Provincial Mobile Force Battalions (PMFB), he added.

The RMFB and PMFB serve as the maneuver forces of PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula, which covers the cities of Zamboanga and Isabela City and the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
