4 die in truck, motorcycle collision

FOUR persons died in a truck and motorcycle head-on collision in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Wednesday, May 12.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, in Dimaya Proper village, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur.

Chang identified the fatalities as Manny Denopol Cais, 33, Helen Taala Tingoha, Princess Aiko Manga Cais, and Eugene Taala Tingoha.

Chang said investigation showed that the truck driven by Jamalius Aguilar Fernandez was traveling from Tabina town to the municipality of Aurora when it accidentally collided head-on with a motorcycle driven by Cais that came from Margosatubig town.

She said that as a result of the collision, Cais and two of his three backriders, Tingoha and Princess Aiko, died on the spot.

She said Eugene was rushed to Chavez Medical Clinic but expired while undergoing treatment. (SunStar Zamboanga)
