4 nabbed for firearms, explosive possessions

FOUR people were arrested and detained for possession of firearms and explosive in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police said Friday, September 21.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified them as the following: Hajir Julaid, Ajay Singsing, Mumin Jumdani, and Ladin Sariol.

Galvez said the four were arrested by the Joint Task Group Sibugay around 5:30 a.m. Thursday in the seawaters at Sitio Lambayugan in Looc Labuan village, Tungawan.

She said the task group, which consist of police and military forces, were on seaborne patrol when they chanced upon the suspects aboard on three motorboats.

She said the task group members confiscated a caliber .38 revolver with five live ammunition from the possession of Sariol and one grenade each from the possessions of Julaid, Singsing, and Jumdani.

She said the suspects were taken to the provincial hospital for medical examination before they were detained pending the filing of appropriate charges against them. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
