FOUR people, including a militiaman and a child, were unscathed in a grenade attack in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Wednesday, October 2, 2019.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the incident happened around 11:55 p.m. Monday, September 30, in the village of Kahayagan, Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Galvez said unscathed were Albert Cañete; his wife, Jocelyn; Aljer Planas Sr., a militiaman; and his two-year-old son, Aljer Jr.

Investigation showed the would-be victims were about to go to sleep when an unidentified person tossed a grenade into the residence of the Cañetes.

She said luckily no one was hurt as the grenade fell near a mango tree in front of the Cañete residence. (SunStar Philippines)
