4Ps beneficiaries told to look for jobs

A TOP official of the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) has advised the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) to look for job and not merely rely on the government subsidy.

Dole Regional Director Ofelia Domingo said the 4Ps beneficiaries can have a better future once they have other source of income through employment.

“Do not just rely on the 4Ps subsidy of the government, you work so that you can uplift the quality of your life especially of your children,” Domingo said.

She said a family can have good quality of life if three or more members of the household are employed.

The beneficiaries of the 4Ps program receive P500 for health and P300 for education assistance for each child enrolled in the elementary and P500 for high school. They also received P600 rice subsidy.

Each family-beneficiary of 4Ps receives a maximum subsidy of P2,600 every two months.

There are 307,833 beneficiaries in the region. (SunStar Philippines)
