5 nabbed, P195,000 ‘shabu’ seized in anti-drug stings

FIVE alleged drug personalities were arrested while some P195,000 worth of illegal drugs seized in separate drug busts in Zamboanga City, the police said Friday, September 6.

Police Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the arrested suspects as the following: Michael Dela Cruz, 42; Jeffrey Abdulsalam, 30; Adzmir Sali, 47; Maudodi Sattar, 32; and Dana Ali, 22.

Martir said Dela Cruz and Abdulsalam were arrested in a drug bust around 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Baliwasan Village.

He said seized from them were some P25,000 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) packed in 36 small sizes heat-sealed plastic sachets and P500 marked money.

Martir said Sali and Sattar were caught in possession of some 10 grams of suspected shabu worth P68,000 and P1,000 marked money when arrested in another drug bust around 10:25 p.m. Thursday in Sta. Barbara Village.

He said some P102,000 worth of suspected shabu, P1,000 marked money and a motorcycle were seized from the possession of Ali who was arrested around 11:45 p.m. Thursday in Tetuan village.
