6 nabbed, P140,000 shabu seized

SIX persons, including two high-value targets and two newly-identified drug personalities, were arrested and some P140,500 worth of shabu was seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga Peninsula, police said Wednesday, February 12.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Micon Dragon Medija, 35; Cecil Salmorin Gozo, 36; Adelberto Bautista Montoya, 31; Alfredo Dupitas Teves, 42; Eduardo Bancairin Tubio, 42; and Alkaijar Ummar Arsad, 32.

Galvez said Medija, listed as number 10 priority target, was caught in possession of some P5,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu and P1,000 marked money when arrested in a drug bust around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, in Purok 3, Barangay Balucot, Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur.

Recovered from Gozo were some P102,000 worth of shabu and P500 marked money when arrested in a drug bust around 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, in Purok San Fransisco in the village of Poblacion, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Galvez said Montoya, Teves, and Tubio were nabbed in a drug bust around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday in a subdivision in the village of San Roque, Zamboanga City.

Montoya has been listed as number 5 drug personality, while Teves and Tubio were both newly-identified drug personalities.

Confiscated from the three were P30,000 worth of shabu and P200 marked money.

Galvez said Arsad, a high-value individual, was arrested also in a drug bust around 8:25 p.m. Tuesday in Sitio Kalang in the village of Sangali, Zamboanga City.

Seized from Arsad were P3,500 worth of shabu and P200 marked money.

Galvez said appropriate charges are set to be filed against the suspects, who were detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
