Anti-drug operation nets high-value target

JOINT police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a high-value target (HVT) suspect in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga Sibugay province, an official said Thursday, August 26.

Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula, identified the HVT suspect as Rendon Ryan Amarille, 34, who has been listed as the number 10 priority in anti-drug campaign in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Ylangan said Amarille was arrested by joint police and PDEA operatives in an anti-drug operation around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday in Purok 3, Tigbangagan village, Kabasalan.

Seized from Amarille were P3,400 worth of substance believed to be shabu and P500 marked money.

Ylangan said charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against the suspect, who was detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
