TWO suspected big-time drug pushers were arrested while more than P7 million worth of suspected shabu and two grenades were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City on Thursday, March 14.

Suspected drug pushers Ricky Hassan, 35, and Ronel Lim, 36, will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Lim, who was also caught in possession of two grenades, will face additional charges for illegal possession of explosives.

Police Captain Shellamie Chang, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, said Hassan was arrested by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) operatives of the ZCPO in a drug bust around 3 p.m. Thursday in Sitio Pantano in the village of San Roque.

Confiscated from Hassan’s possession were some P7.1 million worth of suspected shabu, or methamphetamine hydrochloride, packed in 21 large heat-sealed plastic sachets, 199 boodle bills of P1,000 and one genuine bill of P1,000 as marked money.

Lim, meanwhile, was arrested by the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Police Station 9 in another buy-bust operation around 7:35 p.m. Thursday in the village of Sta. Maria.

Seized from Lim’s possession were some P15,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in 19 small heat-sealed plastic sachets, and two hand grenades, Chang said. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
