Anti-drug stings net 2, P107,000 illegal drugs

THREE persons were arrested while more than P107,000 worth of illegal drugs seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City and Dipolog City, the police reported Sunday, January 3, 2021.

Police identified the arrested suspects as Yusop Maharan, 29; Marjohn Aradais, 25; and Rodel Dangase, 34.

Police Major Elmer Solon, Zamboanga City Police Office’s (ZCPO) Station 11 chief, said Maharan and Aradais were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 10:15 p.m. Saturday in San Jose Gusu village, Zamboanga City.

Recovered from the two were some P100,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in 23 heat-sealed plastic sachets and P500 marked money.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Gilzen Niño Manese, police chief of Dipolog City, said Dangase was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 7 p.m. Saturday in Purok Sun Flower in Sinaman village, Dipolog City.

Confiscated from Dangase during the anti-drug operation were some P7,000 worth of dried marijuana leaves packed in six heat-sealed plastic sachets and P300 marked money.

Appropriate charges are set to be filed against the suspects, who were detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
