Anti-drug stings net 5 suspects, P391,000 shabu

FIVE suspected drug personalities were arrested, while some P391,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Thursday, April 22.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Venger Acaylar Jr., 27; Akmad Haji, 62; Perez Asimuddin, 38; Muktar Alimuddin, 31; and Reynel Bollino, 42.

Duco said Acaylar was caught in possession of P34,000 worth of shabu and P1,000 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday in Tumaga village, Zamboanga City.

Haji yielded P6,800 worth of shabu and P200 marked money when arrested around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, in Sitio Asinan in Kasanyangan village.

Duco said that seized from Asimuddin and Alimuddin were P340,000 worth of shabu and P1,000 marked money when arrested in a private wharf in Baliwasan village.

Bollino was found in possession of P10,200 worth of shabu and P200 marked money when nabbed on Governor Ramos Avenue in Santa Maria village.

Appropriate charges are set to be filed against the suspects, who were detained, said Duco. (SunStar Zamboanga)
