Anti-drug stings net fish trader, farmer

A FISH trader and a farmer, listed as priority targets, were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Saturday, October 24.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Roger Diaz Sanchez, 33, a fisher trader; and Marie Aladores Domen, 29, farmer, and listed as top five priority target-municipal level.

Duco said Sanchez was arrested by joint police and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) personnel in a buy-bust operation around 2:30 p.m. Friday in Purok Rose, Barra village, Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte.

Recovered from Sanchez were nine grams of shabu with an estimated market value of P61,200 and P500 marked money.

Duco said that Domen was arrested by policemen in another buy-bust around 2:45 p.m. Friday in San Jose village, Baliguian, Zamboanga Del Norte.

Seized from Domen were P4,000 worth of shabu and P500 marked money.

Duco said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
