AN AUSTRALIAN was found dead in his home in Zamboanga del Norte province, the police said Wednesday, September 19.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the deceased as Clive Gordon Roberts, 70.

Galvez said Roberts was found dead around 6 p.m. Tuesday near the comfort room of his residence in Larayan village, Dipolog City.

She said that before Roberts was found dead, he requested his brother-in-law, Jose Gino Redillas, to inform his Australian close friend in Dipolog City about his health condition.

“But when he (Redillas) returned home, he found the victim in supine position near their comfort room,” she said, quoting a report from the police in Dipolog City.

Investigation showed that the victim has been frequently hospitalized “due to his health condition,” Galvez added.

She said Roberts was diagnosed with severe anemia secondary to chronic disease when he was hospitalized in June, this year, in Dapitan City.

The information officer said Roberts lies in state at a funeral homes in Estaka village, Dipolog City. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
