Barmm launches housing project in Tawi-Tawi

THE Bangsmoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm), through the Ministry of Social Service and Development (MSSD), has launched a P50-million housing project in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

MSSD-Barmm Minister Raissa Jajurie led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 100 shelter units under the agency’s Bangsamoro Housing Assistance (Bahay) program on Wednesday, April 7.

Jajuri said the Bahay program targeted 1,500 shelter units in Barmm MM for this year. Of which, 400 shelter units worth P200 million goes to the province of Tawi-Tawi, 500 shelter units worth P250million for Marawi siege affected families, and 600 shelter units for the other provinces.

Jajurie said internally displaced persons affected by natural and man-made disasters and returning Filipinos from Sabah were among the beneficiaries of the said project.

Jajurie said the Barmm government is making an effort to meet the needs of constituents in the region. (SunStar Zamboanga)
