'Big-time' drug pusher nabbed, P340,000 shabu seized

AN ALLEGED “big-time” drug suspect was arrested while some P340,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police reported Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Arrested was Dennis Sombreno Pungutan alias Ted, 32, a resident of Sitio Paniran, Zone 4 village, Zamboanga City, according to Police Colonel Richard Verceles, operations chief of the Area Police Command-Western Mindanao.

Verceles said that Pungutan was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:05 a.m. Sunday, August 28, along Murga Street in Santa Catalina village, Zamboanga City.

Verceles said that Pungutan was immediately arrested after he handed over one heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover policeman.

He said that confiscated during the buy-bust operation were some 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000, two genuine bills of P500 placed on top of a bundle of boodle money consisting of 69 pieces of counterfeit P1,000 bills and one cellophane.

He said the buy-bust operation was launched following surveillance on the illegal activity of the suspect.

He said the suspect was detained at the headquarters of the Zamboanga City Police Office. (SunStar Zamboanga)
