Businessman killed, wife unscathed in gun attack

THE police are conducting an in-depth probe to unmask the gunmen behind the killing of a businessman in Zamboanga City.

The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) the incident took place around 7:30 p.m., Sunday, October 14, in Ledesma Drive in the village of Baliwasan.

The police identified the victim as Jaber Lumintad alias Noy-noy, 42, who sustained three gunshot wounds and died instantaneously.

The victim owns and manages the Jabsea Enterprise, a general merchandise business.

Investigation showed the victim was walking home together with his second wife when two men riding tandem in a motorcycle appeared and repeatedly shot the victim.

The victim’s wife, whose identity was not revealed, was unharmed during the incident, the police said.

All possible motives are being looked into in a bid to establish the identities of the gunmen behind the incident, the police said. (SunStar Philippines)
