A CHEF was arrested for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Monday, August 12.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested chef as Rudy Pilapil Carreon, 35, a resident of Purok 5 in Poblacion village, Sibutad, Zamboanga del Norte.

Galvez said Carreon was arrested around 9:40 a.m. Sunday following complaints of gun toting filed against him by Joel Doro-on Magdosa 43, a driver and a resident of Purok 6, Poblacion.

She said investigation showed that Magdosa went to the residence of Carreon purposely to mediate in the settlement of a dispute between his brother-in-law and the chef.

However, Carreon got mad and pointed a gun at Magdosa, prompting the latter to lodge a complaint against the chef at the police station of Sibutad town.

Galvez said Carreon was arrested by the responding police and confiscated from his possession caliber .38 revolver with ammunition. (SunStar Philippines)
