THE Zamboanga City Government, through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), will spearhead activities for the celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM).

The activities will kick off July 5 with the conduct of the training workshop on the formulation of the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Plan (BDRRMP) and budget preparation and utilization of BDRRM fund targeting barangay officials as participants.

Dr. Elmeir Jade Apolinario, CDRRMO chief, said the training will be done in three batches – first batch to be held July 5 to 6, second batch from July 10 to 11 and third batch from July 12 to 13.

Apolinario said the other activities will include the Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment orientation on June 16; the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis training course from July 17 to 20; and, the inter-operability training of response protocols slated from July 24 to 25.

The closing program will be held July 31 with a motorcade and simulation exercise.
