Coast Guard trainee facing 3 counts rape charges

A TRAINEE of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) was arrested on charges of three counts rape, the police reported.

Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the suspect as Ashurkan Janang Arap, 27, a resident of San Roque village, Zamboanga City.

Lorenzo said Arap was arrested around 1:43 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the training center of PCG in Talisayan village, Zamboanga City.

He said that Arap is listed as the fifth most wanted person in the city.

He said Arap has a standing warrant of arrest for three counts rape with no recommended bail issued by a court in Zamboanga City dated February 20, 2023.
