MULTI-NATIONAL corporations, at this early, are eyeing business ventures on the present site of the Zamboanga International Airport (ZIA) once the facility will be transferred to a new location.

Engineer Rodrigo Sicat, City Planning and Development coordinator, said his office had received several inquiries from large corporations, requesting for data on the present airport site once vacated.

“This only shows that the airport transfer has already reached national attention,” Sicat said.

He added that the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is expected to finish its feasibility study for the airport transfer in June, this year.

Sicat also said the TCGI, the contractor doing the master planning of the new airport site, will conduct any time soon the information and education campaign in the villages concerned.
