Couple nabbed in drug sting in Basilan

TWO suspected drug pushers, including a high-value target, were arrested in a joint anti-drug operation in the province of Basilan, the police said Wednesday, April 10.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis Licup, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspects as Humer Sulaiman, 25, and his wife, Jasmin, 27.

Licup said Humer is listed as the number five high-value target drug personality in Basilan province.

He said the couple was arrested in a joint drug bust launched by policemen and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency at 12:42 a.m. Wednesday in Kaumpurnah village, Isabela City, the capital of Basilan.

He said recovered from the suspects were a medium size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu, P1,000 marked money and 14 pieces “boodle money” of P1,000 bills.
