Detained Abu Sayyaf leader get 4th warrant of arrest

CRIMINAL Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives have served another warrant, the fourth one, against a mid-level leader of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) detained in Sulu provincial jail for kidnappings and bombings, the police reported Monday, November 28, 2022.

Police Major Allan Alog, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Sulu Provincial Field Unit chief, said an arrest warrant for 25 counts of frustrated murder with no recommended bail was served to Ben Ahaddi Quirino around 11:31 a.m. Saturday, November 26, at the provincial jail in Bangkal village, Patikul.

Alog said the warrant dated February 7 2012 was issued by the court of Jolo, Sulu

Alog noted that the warrant that was served against Quirino on Saturday, November 26, was the fourth one.

The first warrant of arrest for kidnapping with homicide was served on October 9, the second warrant for kidnappings and bombings on October 11, and the third was for kidnapping for ransom was served on November 16.

Quirino was detained in Sulu provincial jail after he and his brother, Mudjir Sawadjaan alias Almujir Yaddah, surrendered to the Joint Task Force Sulu in June this year.
