Detainee escapes, recaptured

LOCAL anti-drug operatives have recaptured a detainee who escaped when taken to the hospital for treatment in Zamboanga City, an official said Tuesday, October 23.

Recaptured was Omar Indasan alias Reynan Bernardo, 23, who escaped at 5:49 p.m. Monday at the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC).

The Police Station 11 reported that Indasan was arrested in a drug bust around 11:20 a.m. Sunday in Sta. Barbara village, this city.

Around 3:30 p.m. Monday, the police said Indasan complained of difficulty in breathing and needed medical attention. He was brought to the ZCMC upon recommendation of the Emergency Response Team.

Indasan escaped at 5:49 p.m. Monday passing through the unfinished corner of ZCMC while the policemen accompanying him were registering at the hospital’s medical records, the police said.

A hot pursuit was launched that resulted to the arrest of Indasan around 8:40 p.m. of the same day at Situio Asinan in Kasanyangan village.
