Disaster council allots P5-M aid for Taal displaced families

THE City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) chaired by Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has approved the allocation of P5 million as financial assistance to families affected by Taal Volcano’s unrest.

The amount will be taken from the current Local Disaster Fund’s 30 percent quick response fund and coursed through the local government units (LGUs) of the areas affected.

Of the total amount Salazar said P1 million will be given to Batangas while the remaining P4 million will be prorated to other affected LGUs depending on the number of affected families that will be determined by the City Social Welfare and Development Office. (SunStar Zamboanga)
