DEPARTMENT of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Abdullah Dumma lauded the Zamboanga City Government for its highly successful "Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio" campaign that recorded 97 percent or 119,421 children aged zero to 119 months old given anti-polio drops.

In his letter, Dumma extended his appreciation to Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, the entire local government and community of Zamboanga City for their participation and cooperation with DOH in "Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio."

Dumma said the highly successful anti-polio campaign during the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic had resulted in the vaccination of 98.1 percent or 3,409,118 children aged zero to 59 months and in selected localities for zero to 119 months in Mindanao.

"We commend the dedication and hard work of health care staff and community health volunteers, who made sure that every target child was given anti-polio drops," he said in his letter to Salazar. (SunStar Zamboanga)
