Fireman hurt in 2 motorcycle collision

A FIREMAN was injured while another was unscathed in a vehicular accident near a university in downtown Zamboanga City, the police reported Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

The Zamboanga City Police Office’s (ZCPO) Station 11 identified the injured fireman as Fire Officer 1 Akabir Alawi, 35, who is assigned with the Talisayan Fire Sub-Station.

Unscathed was Al-Haider Marajuki, 33, a resident of San Jose Gusu village.

The police said the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 9, along Juan S. Alano Street in Zone 1 village.

Investigation showed that both Alawi and Marajuki were driving motorcycles when they collied while traveling in the same direction from east to west along Juan S. Alano street.

The police said that Alawi sustained injuries as he crashed on the pavement. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment. (SunStar Zamboanga)
