Fish broker, 2 others fall in anti-drug stings

A FISH broker and two others were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as the following: Romar Casumpang, 34; Lito Bonglog, 33; and Rolin Monton, 36.

Duco said Casumpang, a fish broker, was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 4 p.m. Tuesday on Scout Limbaga Road in Pasonanca village, Zamboanga City.

Recovered from the possession of Casumpang were some P68,000 worth of suspected shabu, P1,000 marked money and a motorcycle.

Bonglog yielded some P4,760 worth of illegal drugs and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday in Phase 3, Kasanyangan village, Zamboanga City.

Seized from Monton were some P1,346.40 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in an anti-drug operation around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday in Sitio Pasay in San Roque village, Zamboanga City.

Duco said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
