Fisherman, laborer nabbed in anti-drug operations

A FISHERMAN and a laborer were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Tuesday, July 6.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Richard Berbano, 39, fisherman; and Julius Cainglet, 37, laborer.

Galvez said Berbano was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 1:45 p.m. Monday, July 6, in Sitio Tribo in Mangusu village, Zamboanga City.

Recovered from Berbano were some P1,000 worth of shabu and P200 marked money consisting of two P100 bills.

Galvez said Cainglet was arrested in possession of some P20,000 worth of shabu and P200 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 5:40 p.m. Monday in Santo Niño in San Jose village.

She said the suspects were detained while formal charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
