MAJOR General Cirilito Sobejana, Army’s 6th Infantry Division commander, is a recipient of this year’s Award for Continuing Excellence and Service (Aces) of the Metrobank Foundation, Inc.

Colonel Gerry Besana, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) information officer, said Sobejana received the award during Metrobank’s 40th Anniversary celebration on Thursday, February 21, of last week at Le Pavillon in Pasay City.

Sobejana was one of the 40 exceptional 2019 Aces awardees who have set a worthy example for every Filipino to emulate, according to Besana.

He was also a recipient of the 1995 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Soldier Award.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of the Partner in Empowerment, Advocacy, and Commitment to Excellence (Peace) rendered to 40 selected partner institutions committed in uplifting the lives of the least in society and recognizing the best of the Filipinos.

Meanwhile, Besana said the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) was conferred with Peace award whereby no less than General Benjamin Madrigal, Jr., AFP Chief-of-Staff, received the “Kapit-Bisig” trophy for that recognition.

He said the roster of the 2019 PEACE honorees consists of institutions from national government agencies, non-government and socio-civic organizations, diplomatic missions, media, business, and the academe. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
