High-value individual, 2 others nabbed; P680-K shabu seized

A HIGH-value drug personality and two others were arrested while some P680,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in an anti-drug operation at a pension house in Zamboanga City, the police reported Sunday, July 24, 2022.

Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office director, identified the arrested suspects as Kenneth Tan Pang, 43, tagged as a high-value individual; Junior Usman Kirang, 33; and Bensal Jimenez Paradji, 29.

Lorenzo said they were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 3:25 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at a pension house in San Jose Cawa-Cawa village, Zamboanga City.

Lorenzo said seized from the arrested suspects were some 100 grams of suspected shabu worth P680,000, a cellular phone and a sling bag.

The suspects were detained while formal charges are set to be filed against them in court.

Meanwhile, Lorenzo lauded the team of policemen who launched the anti-drug operation that led to the successful arrest of the suspects.

“This accomplishment is a testament to our perseverance in pursuing our common goal of safeguarding Zamboanga City from the spread of dangerous substances,” he added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
